Hi Girls Inc! I am humbly asking for a grant donation to fulfill this once in a lifetime opportunity to pursue + further my education to advance in yoga experience. I aim to create + curate a safe space for queer, mixed/Carribbean/LGBTQ communities. My goal has always been to nurture vast communities through yoga + meditation such as: nursing homes, children with special needs, jail inmates, children's hospitals, halfway houses, public schools, and so much more - I haven't even hit the surface. I want specifically women of color + LQBTQ communities to feel awakened in their bodies + hearts + minds + soul, through this I have an abundance of ideas of to heal others in such creative + healing measures. This has been a dream of mine to deliver to such spaces + communities. As a small yet effective step, every Thursday I go to the Southside of Chicago + teach yoga to third to fifth graders for 45 mins as an after school program. I have grown in confidence + knowledge, so has my class. This is a small step in wanting to aid children, specifically black children and various listed (as listed above) communities. This opportunity to travel abroad would allow me to come back home breaking the capitolist grind + system I have been in since high school. Approaching my late 20s' I feel deeply a deep, transformative shift is occuring + it is quite lirerally now or never. I refuse to repeat the same cycle I have been in. With this grant money, I would complete the rest of the yoga tuition (the total is 5 grand). I would also need an additional amount to continue my travels independently to Thailand. In totality I am in need of about 7 thousand to feel financially secure in completing this experience. This would be my first ever trip solo + in a forgein country. I cannot do this journey financially alone, therefore I have created a GoFundMe account in the link provided, in honorably asking my loved ones for financial assistance, as again stated, I cannot do this alone. Within my GoFundMe description, it is also similarly stated what my aim + purpose is to pursue this transformative trip + experience.  Along side with your help, I hope I meet the criteria of assisting + nurturing young, hungry women + girls towards feeling their deep, innate purpose through the love, guidance + wisdom of yoga. I am exhausted from holding myself back + know this trip is something my soul needs to do. I will be furthering my education through the same company/organization as I previousluy did for my 200 hours so I know it is a legitimate + reliable source.
