About the StarKid 5K & Family Fun Run

Inova's annual StarKid 5K and Family Fun Run benefits the world-class Inova Children's Hospital, providing life-saving care in a child-friendly environment close to home.

Inova Children's Hospital is nationally recognized and one of the largest, most successful programs in the mid-Atlantic region, providing specialized care to children of all ages from Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland, and beyond.

Inova's vision is to optimize the health and well-being of every individual we serve. Building programs like the Inova Children's Hospital is just one step towards reaching that vision.

Fundraising efforts this year will support Inova’s Emergency Preparedness Fund, which provides a ready source of flexible dollars to meet the escalating healthcare needs of our community during the COVID-19 crisis. Today, the fund is helping to cover additional staffing, specialized equipment for the unique needs of COVID-19 patients, including our youngest patients, and other resources to address the evolving situation.

As Inova continues to respond to the rapidly-changing COVID-19 situation, Inova Children’s Hospital has made the necessary decision to transition our 14th Annual StarKid 5K and Family Fun Run into a virtual event.

The transition to a virtual StarKid 5K and Family Fun Run will enable our supporters to stay engaged while remaining safe and healthy. We have exciting ideas to keep you and your family active as we all spend more time at home, and we are excited to extend the race to more patients and families in Northern Virginia and beyond.
